Cub Scout Pack 919 in Eden Prairie

Hi Scouting Families!

Welcome back to school and to a new year in Cub Scouts!

We have an exciting year planned, with pack meetings, den meetings and special events planned each month. The new calendar for the year is attached.

We will spend this meeting catching up on activities from the summer, presenting awards earned and an overview of the wreath and popcorn fundraiser. Then the boys will split off to race in the Raingutter Regatta.

Parents will then get more details about the fundraiser, info about the scout calendar for the year and outline of what volunteer spots are available. Help by all the parents in small ways helps make this experience fantastic for our boys. If we cover this quick, we have more time to watch the Regatta!

I look forward to seeing you there.

This year’s annual summer picnic will be Sunday, August 21 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Lake Riley Pavillion.

Please wear your blue pack T-shirt.

The pack will be providing drinks, hamburgers.veggie burgers, and kosher hot dogs. Scouts with last names A-M, please bring a side dish. Scouts with last names N-Z please bring a dessert. This event will also be our recruiting event so please bring a friend who is interested in scouting!

Join Pack 919 for a fun filled afternoon at Shady Oak Beach from 1-5 pm on Sunday, July 31. Please see attached for more information about Shady Oak Beach.
Cost: Scouts are free, parents & siblings – $3.50

Attention all Scouts – Countdown to the Annual Summer Pack Rocket Launch has begun!

When: Sunday June 19th 2011, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Where: Central Middle School (CMS) Center Field, Eden Prairie

What do I wear: Your Pack t-shirt for summer time activities

Do I have to register: Yes, but not until the day of the event where there will be a sign-up sheet.

What should I bring: Bring a rocket that is ready to launch. Model rockets can be purchased at a number of hobby stores either fully assembled, or in a kit. Hub Hobby in Richfield has a large selection, some Michael’s stores carry rockets and also the hobby shop Air Traffic in the Eden Prairie Mall. Three rockets will be provided to scouts. Siblings may have rockets to purchase.

What is provided: The rocket engines, the launching equipment, and assistance with preparing for launch will be provided by the pack. Refreshments will also be provided.

This event is a joint event with Pack 479.

Any changes due to weather will be broadcast via email on the day of the event.
